What Snug does well
Snug’s free plan offers a daily check-in with text alerts to emergency contacts, and its paid Dispatch plan (published at $19.99/month or $149.99/year as of September 2026 on Snug’s help center; check snugsafe.com for current pricing) adds a human dispatcher and multiple daily check-ins. It’s simple, respectful, and it works, especially for seniors who live on their own.
Where WellChime goes further
Free, at their chosen time
Emergency contacts / paid dispatch
Calendar, map, meds, Family Chat
17 with personal baselines
Free; Complete adds protection
The scheduled daily check-in is free in WellChime, family heads-up included. Your parent picks a time (“ask me at 9 AM”) and answers with one tap. If the check-in goes unanswered past a grace window, the family gets one heads-up: “no check-in from Mom yet today, might be worth a call.” There’s no per-person fee, and we don’t claim a dispatcher will respond.
WellChime’s free plan also includes family check-ins both ways (you can check in on your own, or family can ask for one), plus presence and daily activity, the shared family calendar with RSVPs, Family Chat, each member’s own medication reminders, a printable family emergency card, the opt-in family map, and a manual Help button with per-person delivery status.
Family Chat also holds photos. Anyone in the family can drop in a photo and the whole circle sees it. Photos stay private to your family.
A missed check-in is one signal. WellChime shows it alongside the others (activity, routine patterns, meds, coverage), so the family has more to go on than an alarm. Our Complete pricing plan adds suspected-fall alerts with an “Are you okay?” check on supported Apple Watch/iPhone setups.
On the Complete plan, the Talk to WellChime assistant answers the same question out loud: ask “Did Mom check in today?” and the answer comes straight from the check-in record, so nothing is made up.
WellChime also works on its own for one person. You can keep an eye on your own wellbeing with no contacts set up, and add family whenever you want.
Pricing
Snug: free daily check-in; Dispatch plan $19.99/month or $149.99/year per person (published in Snug’s help center as of September 2026; check snugsafe.com for current availability and price).
WellChime: Free for the whole family, including the scheduled daily check-in with a family heads-up. Our Complete plans are Complete Family at $249/year ($20.75/mo equivalent, SAVE 31%) or $29.99/month for the whole circle, or Complete Individual at $9.99/month ($79.99/year) for one person, via the App Store. They add health signals and fall alerts. Apple’s localized price is authoritative. If you need a professional dispatcher behind the check-in, Snug’s Dispatch plan offers that and we don’t.
What WellChime doesn’t do
WellChime is not an emergency dispatch service. We never call 911 for you, and we don’t staff a monitoring center. When something needs attention, WellChime alerts your own family and records whether it reached each person. Calling 911 is still one tap away, and that call is made by a person who knows the situation.
No system detects every fall, including ours. WellChime shows you clearly when monitoring is working and when it isn’t. We call that Coverage Truth, and it’s the part of WellChime we’re proudest of.
