WELLCHIME VS COZI

WellChime vs Cozi

Cozi has helped families get organized since 2005. In May 2024 it limited the free calendar to a rolling 30-day window, which put the rest of long-time users’ own calendars behind a $39/year paywall. Its public reviews tell you how that went. If you’re looking for a replacement, here’s how the two compare, including what Cozi still does better.

What Cozi does well

Cozi is still a polished family organizer, with a color-coded shared calendar, to-do and shopping lists, meal planning with recipe storage, and email agenda digests. Twenty million registered users (Cozi’s 2017 count) came to rely on it for a reason, and its list and meal tools do more than ours do today.
Published pricing as of October 2026: free with ads (reviewers report a 30-day calendar window since May 2024); Cozi Gold at $39/year; Cozi Max at $79/year (cozi.com/compare-plans; check there for current terms).

The calendar is free. That includes events, RSVPs, who’s coming, and editing by anyone in the family, with each change showing who made it. There are no ads, no 30-day limit, and no paid tier to see your calendar’s past.
The calendar sits right next to care. The same app that shows the appointment also shows presence, check-ins, medications, and (with our Complete pricing plan) suspected-fall alerts, so you don’t need a second app. A family organizer can tell you the cardiology visit is Tuesday. WellChime also helps you know she got there.
RSVP with Going / Maybe / Can’t on any event, so “who’s taking Dad?” has an answer everyone can see.
Anyone in the family can also share a photo into Family Chat, like the garden, the grandkids, or Sunday dinner. The whole circle sees it, and it stays private to your family.
With the Complete plan you can talk to the calendar too: ask “When is the cardiology appointment?” out loud and Talk to WellChime answers from your family’s calendar. Or say “Add lunch with Sarah on Friday,” and it asks for the details and saves once you confirm.

Choose what fits

Choose Cozi if meal planning, recipes, and shopping lists are the center of your family’s coordination. Those tools are good, and ours are newer.
Choose WellChime if your calendar is mostly about looking out for each other (aging parents, siblings in different cities, the Sunday visit and the Tuesday appointment) and you never want to pay to see your own family’s calendar history.

What WellChime doesn’t do

WellChime is not an emergency dispatch service. We never call 911 for you, and we don’t staff a monitoring center. When something needs attention, WellChime alerts your own family and records whether it reached each person. Calling 911 is still one tap away, and that call is made by a person who knows the situation.
No system detects every fall, including ours. WellChime shows you clearly when monitoring is working and when it isn’t. We call that Coverage Truth, and it’s the part of WellChime we’re proudest of.

Try the free plan

WellChime Free covers both parents and your whole family circle: presence and activity, check-ins, the shared family calendar, the family map (opt-in, updated when people move), Recorder for doctor visits, and Call for Help with recorded delivery status. No card needed, and no trial clock on the free plan. Start free at wellchime.com/onboarding, or compare everything on our pricing page.
