1. What WellChime is — and is not
WellChime provides wellness monitoring for families: health and activity signals, coverage status, suspected-fall signals, medications, optional location, and family coordination tools.
WellChime is NOT an emergency service. It does not call 911, dispatch responders, or guarantee that any alert will be seen or acted on. It is not a medical device and provides no medical advice or diagnosis. Never rely on WellChime as the sole safeguard for a person at risk; in an emergency, call local emergency services.
Monitoring depends on devices, batteries, networks, and permissions we don’t control. We show coverage status honestly — including when monitoring is NOT working — but gaps can and will occur.
2. Accounts and consent
You must be 18+ to create an account. Monitoring a person requires their informed consent (or that of their authorized representative). You agree not to use WellChime to track any person without consent. The monitored Member may pause or limit sharing at any time; you must respect those choices.
3. Subscription and billing
WellChime offers a free plan — covering both monitored Members and unlimited invited family viewers — and WellChime Complete at $29/month per family. Complete starts with a 30-day free trial; after the trial you keep the free plan unless you upgrade. Billing for Complete is processed by Apple or Stripe and renews monthly until canceled; canceling returns you to the free plan and your data is retained.
Cancel anytime in the app or through your Stripe billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no unauthorized access, scraping, reverse engineering, resale, harassment via check-in requests or alerts, or use that violates law (including stalking or surveillance laws).
5. Your content
You keep ownership of notes, messages, and other content you add. You grant us the license needed to operate the service (store, display to the family members the Member has approved, back up).
6. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and availability, and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
We are not liable for harm arising from missed, delayed, or inaccurate signals or alerts, including falls or medical events. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; those limits apply only where permitted.
7. Termination
You can delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms with notice for material changes.
